Sound A Mystery

Sound is a mystery. Just utilitarian aspect of sound has been worked upon. We know only those sounds, which directly influences us.

We use sounds, which are our concern. We hear and listen and then accordingly we write, speak, work and use sounds in the ways, which we like.

There are many sounds like chirping of birds, barking of dogs, bowing of cows, oxen, buffalos etc and voice of many animals. Artificial sounds created by vehicles running on the road. Sounds created by factories, rails, airplane. Exploding sound of arsenals, crackers. Natural sounds of air, desert, mountain, trees, rains, rivers, sea, marine animals and countless other sounds. There are enumerable types of sounds. All are either natural or created by human beings. Intensity of sounds varies. It may be in solid or amongst solids. It may be in liquid and various combination of stagnant and flowing current of liquid or water. It may be in air or any gaseous material. Sounds may be of solids, liquids, gas and all combined together. Sound varies in intensity, type, pitch and with other contents.

These sounds are heard and received by living beings.

There is another sound, which cannot be created by human beings. It is Eternal. It is received when one is in deep silence and communion with the Existence. This becomes very clear and understandable and is experienced by the grace of the living Master. In India this sound is called “Divine Sound”, “Onkar”, “Anahat Naad”, “Anahad Naad”. In Bible it is called “The Logos”, “The Word”. In Zen tradition it is called “Clapping Of One Hand”. This Divine sound is always twenty-four hours showering. It is everywhere always available. It is inside and outside body as well. Rather one is always immersed and floats in this Eternal Sound.  Just one has to be right receiver.

For being right receiver one has to surrender and then learn at the feet of the Master, Sadguru.

Whole world is surrounded by the sound and the only sound. It is only the sound which is always available deep in the sea, above the sea, in the sky, in the caves, on the mountains, in the jungles, in the houses, in the offices, in the factories, in the crowds, in empty spaces, in the laboratories etc. The matter is that both sounds are available. One sound is very fine, subtle and it cannot be heard easily. It is only extra sensory perception. It can be received, not heard by hearing organ, the ears. This is Divine sound, - which is, which was and which will remain forever, even when this earth is no longer exists.

The other sound is active sound, which is easily heard by the ears.

Those who have gone in to “Samadhi” they know the alchemy of both sounds. Active sounds spreads, expands. Ultimately it merges, unifies in to Divine sounds and it becomes one with it. A human being needs just allow the active sound to pass through the body, the mind and the heart. One needs not to resist, identify, and associate deeply with the coming sound. Just allow it to pass through. In passing through miracle happens in the empty space, inner sky, the consciousness inside. Consciousness expands. In practicing this experiment gradually, consciousness consolidates and comes to understanding. Many other features come to the fore, surface of consciousness. One of the manifestations is “Amrit Consciousness”. This is rare to be blessed.

The divine sound manifests into the audible active sounds. Thus active sound is created. Again active sound spreads, expands, merges and unifies, becomes one with the Divine Sound. When Divine sound in consciousness needs to work through the sensory organs the throat, tongue and the body it produces the active sounds. Thus both sounds move in a circle. This circle is an Existential, Divine Circle.

Somebody asked me why you are putting more stress on the sound created by human beings and other natural or artificial sources.

Human beings live in three states. One in excitement generated through sensual pleasures i.e. through eyes, nose, ears, tongue, skin, mind and heart. Second in misery when inner state i.e. consciousness gets contracted.  In this state human being is cut off from external stimuli. Everything, input and output work at minimal level. Let me be more clear, when one sees through eyes in this contracted inner state he cuts the input i.e. sensory incoming stimulation to the body. Even then he receives the minimum because he is getting in from other Para sensory organs as well where he has no control. That part of action works automatically. The output, the response from the body-mind-system is also minimal. Reason is the same as above.

Third state of living human being is of pleasure, happiness flowing through all sensory organs and Para sensory organs. The waves of pleasure, happiness remains continuously expanding and flowing beyond body. It does not remain short-lived. It is growing.

This growing growth of happiness compels one to croon, buzz. This growing, manifesting, crooning, and buzzing state lead to singing anything. This state of human being is very private and personal. Often this situation of crooning, buzzing and singing comes to manifest when one is alone either in bathroom or anywhere in a very jovial state of body-mind-system.

When one observes it is very clear that this process of crooning, buzzing and singing starts with humming sound, like a bee. This humming sound of which all creatures on this earth are made-up of. The basic sound humming starts expanding when a human being is in a jovial state. The more the jovial state the more the expansion. The expansion meaning, spreading of consciousness, and this is the inner state of body-mind-system in a jovial state.

The humming, crooning, buzzing and singing unite the invisible inner state, the vibrant living consciousness of human being with the external cosmic consciousness. Cosmic consciousness is everywhere. The tendency, the pull for unification of the vibrant inner consciousness with the living, vibrant cosmic consciousness becomes a magnetic pull. There is always a magnetic effect working all around the human beings and all the creatures. A pull for unification and expansion going on and on, this is a continuous and infinite process going on in this cosmos.

To know this magnetic pull is a matter of practice under some experts, the specialist of the spirit, the Master.

The vibration inside the inner consciousness of the human being and outside in the cosmos is very subtle and Para sensory perception. There is a continuous, very delicate, subtle sound going on inside and outside.

It resembles sound produced by crickets, bells and solid metallic bronze or its alloys. Human beings cannot produce this sound. No one can create this sound. It is always available, so it is Eternal. Any scientific instrument cannot record this sound. Up till now there is no proof against this.

Only human beings can receive this eternal sound in a relaxed, playful, jovial and in a no-mind state. One has to be very sensitive, open to small and big, natural or artificial, spreading sounds available all around. All Mystics of the past and the present have experienced, realized this Eternal Sound. They have given different names of it in their religious scriptures like 'Words' in Bible; in Sufi scriptures 'Sada-E-Aasmani', 'Sout', 'Wang'; 'Kun' in Islam. In India 'Divine Sound', 'Shabad', 'Om', 'Omkar', 'Anahat Naad', 'Anhad Naad', 'Pranav', 'Udgeet' and many more names have been given.

Natural process with all living beings including human beings is on and on of attraction. Attraction between two forms, attraction between two thought processes, and attraction between two emotional states are common. In my view this attraction happens only because of the vibrant, humming content of the individual. The more the realized vibrant humming contents the more the attraction from the non-realized to the realized person. This realization is also growing. Those who are sensitive and realized the Eternal sounds are sensitive to external sounds.

In my view singing both classical and vocal create a magnetic effect, from inside to outside all around.

So a movement should be started to encourage people to hum, croon, buzz and sing. In India there is a good tradition of singing classical songs. It is achieved after a long practice. For efficiency and public performance singing needs much practice. But for the individual growth in love, patience, and eternity one needs no practice. It is spontaneous. Thus spontaneity should be encouraged.

I am not a singer, neither I have practice singing nor I belong to any classical family (Gharana), still I enjoy and live a full 'magnetic life'. I love to write songs, sing, and dance. I enjoy all sounds all around.
